XK 140 DHC - Scheunenfund -

RECENTLY DISCOVERED SLUMBERING IN A LOCAL SHED , 1957 JAGUAR XK140 CONVERTIBLE ALSO KNOWN AS THE DROP HEAD COUPE IN BRITISH PARLANCE . THIS CAR WAS PUT UP ON BLOCKS IN 1982 AND COVERED UNTIL IT WAS RECENTLY PULLED OUT OF STORAGE .THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD THE CAR OVER 30 YEARS AND SAYS HE USED IT OFTEN UNTIL HE DROVE IT INSIDE AND PUT IT UP FOR STORAGE . WE GOT THE CAR STARTED FAIRLY EASILY, IT HAS GOOD OIL PRESSURE AND DOES NOT SMOKE, THE TIRES LOOK GOOD AND THE EXHAUST WAS REPLACED BEFORE STORAGE AND STILL LOOKS VERY GOOD .THE CLUTCH IS WORKING BUT THE BRAKES WOULD NEED ATTENTION BEFORE THE CAR COULD BE ATTEMPTED TO BE DRIVEN. THE BODY AND CHASSIS APPEAR VERY SOLID THERE IS A LITTLE RUST AT THE FRONT OF THE SPARE TIRE AREA , NOT BAD. THE CAR HAD A 1970'S PAINT JOB AND MOST OF THE CHROME WOULD BE OK FOR A DRIVER. THE INTERIOR AND TOP LOOK ORIGINAL BUT ARE AGED . INDICATED MILEAGE 16683, TRUE MILEAGE UNKNOWN. IT IS A 4 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION WITH THE TWIN CARB DUAL OVERHEAD CAM 3.4 ENGINE, I AM TOLD BY MY MECHANIC THAT THE ENGINE NUMBER IS NOT MATCHING THE ID PLATE BUT IS OF THE CORRECT TYPE. THERE IS AN ORIGINAL JACK, SPARE AND OWNERS MANUAL BUT NO TOOL KIT. IT SEEMS THAT WITH A BIT OF EFFORT THIS CAR COULD BE MADE TO BE A DRIVER OR ALSO WOULD BE A GOOD BASIS TO RESTORE TO SHOW DEPENDING ON WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR BUT OVERALL THIS IS A VERY DECENT CAR TO WORK WITH .

So wurde das Fahrzeug vom Verkäufer beschrieben.
